Eldon Clark (Geni volunteer curator) When you mouse over the picture, Edit pops up. There you will be able to set the profile picture.

Patrick Dale Quinlan Not helpful - yet... Am using a Mac with Safari browser. I have moused over every picture in a 'Photos of... " view but do not get a pop-up menu. Instead, if I mouse over a thumbnail image a red circle with and X pops up - which I assume is a 'delete' button. Where exactly is the view of a picture that you are referring to for mousing over? Please help. ;-)

Eldon Clark (Geni volunteer curator) You have to be on the profile page of the person whose picture you want to change.

Patrick Dale Quinlan Please be more specific. Where on the profile page? The photo that I want to set as the replacement profile photo is not on the profile page - it only show on the media page. How can I mouse over a photo on the profile page that is not on the profile page. What am I missing here? Please advise. Thanks...

Eldon Clark (Geni volunteer curator) OK, things are becoming clearer. To add a picture to a profile, you first have to have the picture on your computer, not on Geni. I am not sure how it works with a Mac but with Firefox you right click on the picture and you get the option to save the image, which will save it to your computer. Give it a name and save to a place where you can find it. Then go to the profile and add it. If you can't do that, send me links to the picture and the profile where you want it..

Patrick Dale Quinlan Solution: back to basics. The option to set a profile's photo is only available to the profile's current manager. In this situation, I had set up this profile in 2008, but it's owner, my wife. has since taken over it's management. In this case, I was able to log in to the target profile with her password and was then enabled to have the 'Edit' options you described. Thanks for your assistance.
