I would like to close my account AND delete my tree which doesn't seem to be feasible. Notwithstanding the legal implication of such a restriction, this is pretty poor business policy. Please share your experience. Thanks

Eldon Clark (Geni volunteer curator) First of all, why do you want to delete your tree?
You can close your account from your account settings. On any page, click on your name in the upper right side. You will get a menu which includes Account Settings. Any part of your tree which is not claimed by or managed by any other person will be deleted

Eric Melloul that is not correct. first, the account gets deactivated instead of deleted. second, after deactivation, the data and profiles are either "donated" to the community or transferred to a new manager. both options are different from deletion, which is what i intend to do. wonder if geni's procedure are legal altogether.
