How to disconnect from the big tree

I don't know how - but somehow I am now connected to the big tree - and I am not interested in that.

I just want to have my own little family tree.

 

How do I disconnect my tree from the big tree?

  This is contradicting Geni's perpose and spirit.

  When I started my tree on Geni I was NOT informed it would be put on a world tree - I wish to disconnect - please tell me how?

  Marilyn, Geni's mission has always been to build a single family tree  of the world through collaboration. If you do not wish to be in a shared tree, then Geni is not the right site for you. If you want to build a tree that is under your full control, then we suggest using MyHeritage instead.
