I have found photos that are not of the person discribed in the text. How come? Why fake a photo. For example - the photo by Nils Johan Adler is not of him. It was painted in 1913 almost 50 years after his death. I saw it at an exhibition in Copenhagen and got the information there. What a disappointment as I thought that one of my ancestors had been painted by one of our great Swedish painters, Carl Larsson.
Geni is a shared tree, where people collaborate on profiles. So sometimes it is difficult to control who tags a person in a profile and under what reason it makes sense. Some people just like to upload pictures, even odd ones - flowers and such that don't have anything meaningful about the person. I think a project was started to discuss what is a good photo and what is not. You can usually untag photos, but it's best to contact the person that added it and ask the question to them.
