How do I verify if an unsolicted phonecall is from a Geni employee and not from a hacker?

I am a free member. Today I investigated the cost of upgrading to a premium account. I opened the widow as I saw the charge was 4 euro a month. On opening I discovered I would have to subscribe for two years in full a cost of 96 euro...nope not for me...so I closed the window and didn't proceed. Less than 5 minutes later I received a phone call from a USA based number +1 (718) 473-3922. I answered my phone. A woman with a Russian/East European accent spoke and said she was working for Geni and said they had seen I was checking out subscription costs....and wanted to make me a better offer on the phone....I politely declined, and hung up. I do not recall listing my phone number on the site when I registered and looking at my profile I cant see my phone number on it? Was this woman a Geni employee? If she was can I ask Geni not to call me again and to delete my phone number from their database? And may I suggest that to avoid suspicions from registered members refrain from employing staff with Russian accents....and please get a "Contact Us" page up. I have probably wated my time here.....grrrr
