Is there a way to combine this with other genealogy sites? My dad started our tree here, but I started one through family search/ancestry.com.

  Crystal - there is no way to combine the different websites.  Geni, Ancestry, and FamilySearch are competing sites.  Ancestry, like MyHeritage (Geni's parent company), specializes in isolated trees, where Geni and FamilySearch have World Trees.  http://www.geni.com/worldfamilytree/learn-more  You're not yet connected to the larger world tree where we could see paths to other members in the tree, but I'd certainly encourage you to stay here and build it up to get connected. I think we have the largest interconnected world tree.  :)  The only thing to do would be to copy data from one site to another.  We have some tools that can make that a little easier if there is a bit to copy.
