Hi, I see that every time I add a new family member, the deaulf language is English. However, my family is Italian, and most of them will need to add family members in Italian. It would be more pratical to get Italian as a default language. How can I do it?
My profile page is in Italian, but this didn'\t change anything.

The default only applies to those that do not have the language entered as their localized language. So if your family has their language set to Italian and the profile has a name defined for the Italian language, then it will show that name. When your language is set https://www.geni.com/account_settings/localization it should always include the tab for your native language, but it will also include the default tab for English. There is no way to get rid of the English tab for the name, though it need not be filled out.

Well, that's what the original person asked and you knew that. One of the annoying features of Geni. Not very international. As if everything had a preferred English viewpoint into it. I Googled to find a relief and found this. Found also a total blocker, the inability to import GEDCOM.
The question was how to change the defualt, not remove English. So, I didn't read the question the same way you did and answered it best as I could.
Correct on GEDCOM - I think all the world trees have stopped this. It creates more problems than it solves.
These are both issues that are more difficult to deal with in a shared tree environment - believe me, we've discussed the language and GEDCOM thing to death.
I'm so annoyed about how the English default messes up the real name of my ancestors, even when I have entered their name under the Spanish tab.
Yes, this English default is EXTREMELY annoying and should have been dealt with a decade ago! Geni is already an economic milk machine and could well afford this trivial change.
