I have a large (500+) family tree already started the MyHeritage website. Is there any way to import that to Geni? I don't want to start over again!
Thanks,
Lawrence Swartz

I have the same situation. Is that possible?
Thanks,

Currently, the only way is by using a tool called SmartCopy, which allows you to copy it family by family. https://www.geni.com/projects/SmartCopy/18783
I'm not a member of either site at the moment. But would like to move my my heritage family tree over to geni. Is this possible and would it fix any mistakes in my tree. Thanks
OK Same question as Lawrence Swartz. I don't want to star over again either. That answer was 8 years ago. Has anything improved since then? Even Family by family is an arduous task.
Like Jeff said, use SmartCopy (see https://www.geni.com/projects/SmartCopy/18783) to copy over any missing info from MyHeritage to Geni. Please do not use a GEDCOM as that would create many duplicates. See also https://www.geni.com/projects/Connecting-to-the-Big-Tree/17983
Hi Joyce, you can use SmartCopy, third-party browser extension, to copy over pieces of your family tree to Geni. This will help minimize the number of duplicates you may possibly introduce to Geni.
Or you can use our GEDCOM importer to import a GEDCOM file of your tree to Geni. Our GEDCOM importer will import a few generations at a time, stopping each time to search for duplicates. You will then need to resolve those duplicates before the import will continue. You can read more about how to import your family to Geni in our FAQ: https://help.geni.com/hc/en-us/articles/229705127-Can-I-import-a-GEDCOM-into-Geni
