New user, don't understand how to link to existing profile

I'm trying to put in my family tree but in doing so I found that my grandfather is already on here (although there's nothing about his two wives, five children, or death). I learned this after I created a record for him. How, specifically, do I get the two records - the old one and the one I just created - to link? I saw something about merging but I don't see any way to do it from these pages.
