Jens, no it's not a fake site and it is serious. It just sounds like you're confusing a Geni Pro subscription with a MyHeritage Data Subscription. You can contact Geni at subscriptions@geni.com. It's possible they may be able to switch you to the other service.

Hi John. Yes, we see that you took advantage of our special Pro offer in October and finally registered a new MyHeritage account yesterday. As stated in the instructions of your email receipt, "Once registered, your account will be credited in 48-72 hours."
Your MyHeritage account has now been credited with a data subscription.
