"Location" on profile

I have been entering specific locations for birth and death locations of  Finnish ancestors, and your program helps me to get there, with spelling, special characters, etc.  However, when I go to check it, it defaults to a country!  It is very important to have a location to trace old records.  Am I doing something that says to go to a default, in this case, Finland (Soumi)?

Suggestion:  Please give a Message for an option to keep the specific location, rather than just go to the default. I feel like I have wasted a lot of time; and if I go to the edit box, the spelling, special characters, etc. do not pop up to assist.

  I would suggest that geni get someone to assist them in creating the defaults for all lines for each language supported, except for the line for "Place" name which can be individually named for the users of Geni.  That way no-one shouldn't be able to tweak the defaults, but only being able to add a more specified location in the "Place" line

  In addition there should be a converter if the user has another default language.  Geni has a large community, so I believe there are a lot of people willing to "translate" a location or three if they're able to manage more than their native language.  In most cases there shouldn't be much work, as there aren't that many places names that differ in various languages, except for the name of the country itself.
