Dan Cornett Hi, Mohit budhiraja.
This should happen once you establish the connections between members of the family. For example, if you add your parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins (all the children of your grandparents), then you can email those people, and when they join into Geni.com they will "take over" their own profile -- and be able to see what you have entered, as well as add additional family members from "their viewpoint" of the tree.
FYI: It is a nice practice to mark people who are deceased and who's children are all deceased (e.g.: like with most great-great-grandparents) as "Public" profiles.
Once you go back another generation beyond that (earlier), you may find "connections" with existing PUBLIC profiles which may or may not match with your ancestors ... you may find that you 'connect into' distant relatives via some common ancestors ... but those older profiles (people's information) needs to be marked Public for that to happen effectively.
