Edit profile does not warn for data and/or tree conflicts: I think this is a bug

Please show on the edit profile screens when there are pending conflicts (data and / or tree).

 

Below are additional idea's:

When there are conflicts please ad a link to the resolve screen(s)

Please warn user when editing  a field for which a data conflict exists.

When a user edits a field for which a data conflict existed, please remove that field from the conflicts page.

Don't let a user edit relations ships with edit profile when a tree conflict exists for that profile or a related profile in that tree conflict

  Sometimes that is the only way to resolve relationship conflicts, such as when the parent-child relationships have gotten into complicated, incorrect connections.  The "normal" conflict resolution (of assigning parents) doesn't always work because Geni thinks this will cause a split in the tree -- but that is exactly what is needed (to "split" the tree of the incorrect joining).

  FYI: When edit the relationships tab, a tree conflict symbol (yellow triangle) will show up on that page if there are more than one set of parents.

  Hi Job and Dan - I'm moving this to the Feature Request forum. Thanks for the suggestions for improving the merging and data conflict process.

  Dan, I still think it would be better  if resolving such conflicts where done on a separate screen (from the normal edit screen) or there should be a very visible warning, so the user must be aware there is a conflict and the screen should make sure the edit is for resolving the conflict.

  Natalie, I have requested many times that when there is conflicting data, a click on icon show up on the profile just like possible merges do.
