Deceased Family Members, can't access their account

2 family members recently deceased, you are still sending birthday announcements because no one can access their account.  How do I make this change?

  Open their profile and report them as deceased in the [Actions▼] menu in the upper right corner of the profile.

  If they are the manager of profiles you should probably also write in the report a recommendation on who should inherit the profiles since if the closest relative which is a Geni user which by default will inherit the profiles is an inactive account.

  This method is crazy.  I set up this account in 2007 and since that time people have gotten married and have died, but for the life of me I cannot alter the profile I set up myself for them.  It's so frustrating to try to alter any one profile, sometimes becasue is was wrong to begin with that I just dont bother going to the site for any information.

  If you are talking about claimed/user profiles you cannot edit their profiles unless you are close family and they have changed their setting to allow family to edit their profiles. I assume you would not allow others to edit your own profile either unless you have opened up for that.

  All other unclaimed profiles in your family group can be edited and marked deceased by you.

  So there are no options if they are in my family tree, but did not set up their settings before they died?

  I just listed your options.

  To summarize: Use the Report as deceased option on their profile.

  When I click on the Activity menu, there is no option to put deceased.  We are all very upset every time we get a birthday email for them.  PLEASE HELP.

  I am the one that added them and still cannot access their profile to edit this.

  Karen, The option under activity is to "Report".  That will give you an option to report them as Deceased.

  I'm not sure of their current timeframe, but Geni is usually pretty responsive to these.
