Curators should be able to merge public profiles in unconnected trees without requesting collaboration or family group membership.

  Clearly Geni disagrees - This was the way it used to be - that was how my Tree got connected to the Big Tree -  and Geni very consciously and purposely changed it.  I believe because so many folks objected so very strongly to having their Tree forcibly merged against the wishes of everyone on the Tree.
