Don't know what happend, but instead of the requests for entries to be added as MM/DD/YYYY, it now shows MM DD YYYY.
Whenever I attempt to type in a date (e.g., birth, death, marriage, etc.) as MM DD YYYY and his save/close, the record does not record.
Trying alternate versions, ex: MMDDYYYY, MM/DD/YYYY, or DD MM YYYY does not seem to work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I prefer the drop-down dates choice; have used for months; can't enter ANY DATES NOW! when you get time, Thank You.
This is a recent event. I also was having some difficulty putting dates on timelines then it straightened out.
A member of my immediate tree has passed away. When I open the "edit' SCREEN THE "LIVING" "DEAD" radio boxes are not there. How can I show that this person is deceased?
I initiated my cousin's profile. When she joined I could no longer edit her profile. I request a collaboration and it was accepted but I still can't edit her profile???

Intermittenly the infomation boxes displays low on the screen without the add button being visible. I am unable to add family membors or correct errors. Cannot move box so it is visible.I am a basic customer who was going to upgrade but am having second thoughts. Also my tree has been rearranged and shows erronious information. How do I get help?

My husband, Jack Raz passed away 12/12/2011. The status boxes, living or deceased are not there. How do I enter the date of his death?
Margot Raz , sorry for your husband. I faced the same problem in June. What I did for my Aunt, was to delete her and put her again as deceased person.
Margot Raz, Kevin Nowlan - A claimed Profile does not have choice to change to Dead.
1) If you have their login info, you can login sort of pretending to be them, go to Account Settings (I think it is) and close account, giving reason as "Deceased"
2) If you are a Pro, you can submit a Ticket, explaining who died (include name as in Geni, e-mail for that Profile as used in Geni, plus I suggest give your name and e-mail on Geni, possibly your relationship and a bit more info such as when they died)
3) anybody can go to the Profile, click Actions, click Report, indicate Deceased [info also in Help Topics - search on "Deceased" ]
Elvina Rogstad - once a person claims their Profile, default is only that person can edit it. They can go to Account Settings and change so it is editable by all in Max Extended Family - but no choice to only let themself and you edit. Collaboration means you can edit each other's Public Profiles - not one another's own Profiles of yourselves.

Henry, Brian, Gerald, Phil, and Francis - we had a few bugs to work out when we switched the date input format, but all the kinks have been worked out now. If you'd like to change your date format, you can go here: http://www.geni.com/account_settings/localization and select your preferred format.
Kevin and Margo - You can use the Actions menu at the top right of the profile to report a profile as deceased.
Elvina - Each of our users is in charge of their own profile - by default, we don't allow users to edit one another's profiles. However, your cousin can go to her account settings to Permissions and check the box that says 'Let my family edit my profile' if she wants you to be able to make changes to her profile.
Dawn - Are you still having problems editing your tree? If so, can you let me know which browser you're using? (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Opera, etc) so I can look into it?
