Not getting notified when a profile I manage & follow is merged

Hi,

 

I manage a profile for a James Campbell.  A few days ago, someone proposed a merge on that profile, and someone else approved the merge. It was an incorrect merge; the two profiles were not the same.  Despite both managing and following the profile, I did not get a notification of either the proposed merge, or the actual merge.  No, notifications are not going into my spam folder. I checked.

It is imperative that we get notifications of this sort of thing.

At what point will notifications be implemented?

  Additional information.

  The person who proposed the merge was in my family group.  Shouldn't I still receive notifications when a person in my family group makes changes to profiles I follow?

  I think it is necessary that all managers and all followers of a profile are notified when a merge is requested (then they are able to deny or accept this) and when a merge is completed (then they are able to make corrections if necessary) and of all changes in the profiles to keep in touch ! No matter it is in or outside the familygroup.

  Another instance of this occurred today and a couple of days ago, this time the person who proposed the merge was not someone I collaborate with or part of my family group.  I did not get notified of either of these two proposed merges, despite both managing and following the profile.  (In this case, unlike the one I noted above, the merges appear to be correct.)

  July 25, 2011 at 11:55 AM	Nils Olofsson's parent was changed to Olof "Birkarl" Nilsson by Johan Lars Mikael Schalin.

  Hi Philip and Fred - We do not send out an email notification of merges. We were doing this for awhile some time ago, but a couple of years ago, we had to turn off that feature for performance reasons. You will still see a notification appear in your news feed on the home page, but you will not be notified via email of a requested or completed merge.
