Surname bug

If a DISPLAY NAME is entered then the SURNAME does not display in the tree. The only way to display the SURNAME is to not have a DISPLAY NAME. Is it suppose to be this way?

  Default for DISPLAY NAME, for those using American English is <First Name><Last Name>  (for those using American English, there is no Surname Field!! I assume for you, default is probably <Given Name><Surname>)  - so yes, this is working correctly - DISPLAY NAME is the FULL NAME as you would like it to appear - if you want the SURNAME to be displayed, and you do not want to use the Default, then include it in the Display Name.   At least, this is how I understand it.

  HI Steve - I think you've stumbled across a misunderstanding of the way to use the Display Name field rather than a bug with the Display Name field. By default, the display name is set to [First name] [Last name]. If you enter a display name that is only one name, then no, we will not display a surname or last name. If you want the surname or last name to display, that also needs to be entered into the Display name field. If you prefer to see the [First name] [Last name] names for all profiles, you can go to your Name Preferences panel (http://www.geni.com/account_settings/name_preferences) and disable Display names.
