I recently merged a profile of my 3x great-grandparent with a link to one of their children (my cousin 3x removed?) anyway, I am curious why the profiles above the link like my 4x great-grandparents are not visible to the person whom I merged the profile with? It is also their 4xgreat grandparent and I would like for them to be able to view the profile without making it public...please direct me!

Jeff, Geni Curator It may extend outside their family group (http://www.geni.com/company/privacy), in which case you would need to add them to your family group to view private profiles. However, I would recommend making the profiles public to that area and sending a collaboration request. 3x great-grandparents or such that are 1 or 2 generations from living persons should not generally be a privacy concern. There info is already part of the public record.
