missing immigration data

This is an obvious bug. What kind of self respecting genealogy site does not contain this data. It is certainly supported in GEDCOM.

  And where should it be?
  In the timeline of the profile?
  Take a closer look the next time, you might even find an add event link there ;-)

  I would not expect a specific immigration field, - in fact I have never seen it on other sites and programs either, - so this might be a local US thing?

  I have never seen this but I will look. Immigration is a common thing in the world. Especially when studying people. At least ancestry.com has this. Surely that is reason enough. Not that its relevant but the last I checked Geni and myheritage are American companies.

  Even still its not clear that this is the intended mechanism for entering immigration information. Explicitly defining this would allow algorithm. To use this info.

  You can add and name name any event to the timeline.

  In my opinion that is a much better alternative than having some hardcoded alternatives.
