I just spent an hour typing in my memories of my grandfather in the discussion section on his profile and when I clicked post it all disappeared. All that work is totally gone?
I looked at the home page it was there, but I did not see it on his profile. So it is not lost.
If you added it as a public discussion you should find it in the discussions tab of the profile and in the public discussions section of Geni.
Personally I would only use discussions for discussions where I ask for help from others, and use the Overview/About section for information about the person.
I notice that the About section of your own profile just was updated, may be you updated the wrong profile?

Please know that you may see your Private Family Discussions by clicking on 'Research' drop down menu then 'Discussions'. It will default to view the discussions you follow, you may change the view to 'My Family' (http://www.geni.com/discussions?discussion_type=private) in order to view a list of all your private family discussions.
