Allow upload of url's with international characters

I tried to upload a link from Wikipedia that includes a polish "ł" in the link. Upload failed. Users in Poland, France and many other countries use special alphabet characters in their links. If Geni is truly international it should be able to handle international character sets. Rgds

  But since it has international characters in the URL, the link wouldn't work.

  Take a closer look at the web standard and you will find out that the standard does not allow it either.
  
  Actually it is the browser that tricks you, - in the protocol those characters are escaped, but the browser understands this protocol and display it as expected by the user.
  
  In the profile you link to, - try to right-click on the link to the father and perform a copy url and paste it somewhere, and you will see that Étienne in the uRL actually are encoded as %C3%89tienne
  
  This means that to link to a correct URL in the About Me the URL have to be encoded that way to be correct.
