hi again, after som unsuccessful trials to rectify zombis and dead privates i succeeded to detach (not delete) a complete branch with several hundred profiles. You should check the software. Whenever there is a "private" dead old zombi in the branch the merges are not working.

  If they are outside your own family you have probably destroyed the tree to someone else to "fix" your own.
  Do you have the link to the branch?
