I received a letter Geni now is connected to MyHeritage and that it's all free and that I can make matches and whatever. Then I go to my Geni account and find there's a match with another tree, and I'm given a link where I supposedly can do the connection. But when I go there, I'm offered different lengths of subscriptions in exchange for some of my money, and if I decline I can't do anything! Would you care to explain?

Geni Support Team Hello Mikaël:
Please know that merging duplicate profiles and tree matches are two different features. Merging duplicate profiles is now free. Tree matches which shows a list of profile matches in other trees is still a Pro user feature.
Please see our F.A.Q. on how you can merge duplicate profiles:

and for more information about merging please see: http://help.geni.com/forums/367927-merging
