I had tried to view the events for my family groups for 2012. However it doesn't able to show it. I had selected all the options for "People" and "Event Type" and the right year. However only 2 events come out. There should be a lot more.

Muammar Ghadafi ISHAK Great news. This issues had just been fixed yesterday after 2 years of waiting(actually more for me).
The problem was the selection to view "My Family Group" was only applied to a claimed profile. This is why the timeline doesn't even able to show all of my niece/nephew and cousins information.
I guess no one is really using the timeline feature as I don't see anyone complained about it. :)
