There is a bug in merging another tree with my tree

Hi,

Geni merged incorrectly my tree with my brother tree. There is an error message about a conflict - and rightly so. My brother is Yoav Rosenthal. His wife is Leah Fruma Rosenthal (but in the other tree she is Fruma Rosental - this might be the reason for the conflict - not sure). Now in my tree both Yoav Rosenthal and Fruma Leah rosenthal are shown as my siblings.  I tried to change my tree - but Geni doesn't let me. My brother tried to changes his tree - same thing.

I hope you can help sort it out - Note that the conflict was created automatically as a result of a bug in Geni.

  THE BUG WAS CREATED BY GENI - I DIDN'T ASK TO MERGE TREES AND ONCE IT IS DONE ANYHOW - I GET REDICULOUS CONNECTIONS - ME BEING SISTER OF MY SISTER IN LAW...

  MY TREE IS USELESS. I SPENT A LOT OF TIME ON BUILDING IT. YOU WANT ME TO PAY BEFORE YOU REPLY? FORGET ABOUT IT - I CANNOT TRUST YOU GIVEN MY EXPERIENCE SO FAR.

  The problem you're describing is not a software bug as you suggest - it was created by user error, which is visible in the revision history.  The problem was created by a family member, Dr. Yoav Rosenthal, accepting an incorrect merge.  So, not only are you in the wrong, you're in the wrong forum area, which is probably why it never got answered as not as many people watch the bug reports.  So there is nothing here for anyone to fix in the Software (or many users would be having the same issue) - the software is working fine.   You should have politely posted to the help section, if you wanted help - not to a bug report section for something that's not a bug.   You also could have easily searched the help area and found references to gain assistance instead of waiting two years and then screaming about it.  This is volunteer help by the community and your rude comments don't encourage anyone to assist you.  Geni does not have the resources to provide free customer service to every user, just as I expect in your profession, there is only so much work you can perform and your time has a cost - if you want to see a Dr for an advanced problem, then you'll need to pay something.  But we do have our equivalent of nurses, Curators, that can help you for free - they primarily watch the help forum and Geni discussion threads.  With that, I can easily fix your problem if you'd like to clam down, accept responsibility, and ask politely.
