Editing Someone Else's Event Breaks the Event -- I lost a lot of good work

In a profile timeline, when you add a custom event, like "Family Trip to Europe", when someone else (manager or collaborator) edits that event (say, change the title to "Family Trip to Europe in 1976"), after you save, the event actually disappears from the timeline.

It's gone.

I had created hundreds of events for many profiles, and now half of them just don't show on timelines nomore.

Yet, if you take a copy of the URL of the event before you apply the change, and type this URL in a browser, the event page will show up. It appears that the event still exists, it is just that it loses its association with the profile.

Furthermore, when you create the event, if you associate other profiles to that event (edit/People), after someone else makes a change, the event loses its association with all the profiles.

For example, take this profile:

http://www.geni.com/people/Mgr-Edouard-Charles-Fabre/6000000026490010212

I added this event:

http://www.geni.com/profile/6000000026490010212/events/6000000026488509501

The other manager on that profile opened this event and made a change. Since then this event doesn't show on the profile's timeline. Yet, if you use the event's URL, you can still see the event.

==============

This is a very unfortunate bug. Creating and updating events on the timeline is one of the most fun and meaningful feature of Geni profiles. This is where you can really build a great story for a profile, especially when you cross reference several profiles to a same shared event.

I hope, Geni Team, that you will fix this one fast. I can't wait to go back and work on profiles' timeline again.
