Asa in the quote was the son of Eli. Jesse Hyatt did have a brother named "Asa Hyatt, who died in Anson Co., NC and never built a house in the town of Hyattstown. "Jesse, Eli, Asa (d. in Anson Co., NC) were the sons of Meshach Hyatt of Frederick Co., MD.
