a problem in my tree when I merged

A problem developed which I can't seem to correct.  It happened when I merged my tree with someone else's.  The problem is that my tree now lists Elizabeth Ann Simon as my daughter (to an unknown extra spouse that I had, or have).  BUT... Elizabeth Ann Simon is in fact my MOTHER, and she is listed correctly as Elizabeth Apfel (Simon) -- my mother).  I can't delete the erroneous daughter entry.  Also, I only have had one spouse, my current one -- Jennifer Melcher.  That is listed correctly.  Could this have been due to erroneous entries in the tree that I merged with mine??
