Even tho photo shows up in Profile Photos it does NOT as the Profile Photo

HOW do you CROP the photo. I Rotated the photo & since it's large & rectangular, it simply does NOT show up as the mini-Profile Photo, only in the collection of Photos!
In one place I read: Geni only uses the cropped area identifying that person.  However, if I already have photos of a person and I upload a new one, and I want to use that new one as the profile photo...there is no way of using the cropped area.

BUT I see NO way to Crop the Photo so it can be used for the Profile Photo
