Improve addition of dates

Cannot input dates. Keeps on showing invalid date. Do you spell out month for example

  Check your date formatting preferences.   http://www.geni.com/account_settings/localization Geni is very picky because it has to account for 1, 2, 3 digit years, negative years, a space as a delimiter, etc.  So it doesn't like to guess - if it's uncertain, it will not display.  You should see the date to the right of the field when entering that gives you feedback on what it sees.

  I have successfully entered one date but when I enter another one, it keeps scrambling it - even though I enter it the same as the one that worked??  I also enter it exactly by the format I chose - no luck.  INVALID DATE!! Aggravating!
