Why my photo in geni is public in google even thats not allowed in privacy settings
It can take a couple weeks sometimes for search engines to update their cache. It's not instant and Geni has no control over it, but I've submitted a request to Google to have them update their cache, which should speed up the process.
My profile is private, and I no longer have my photo up on Geni, however, when I Google search my name, there my photo is linked back to the Geni site. How can I remove my photo forever so that it does not show up in search? Thanks in advance.
Rachel, you need not delete your photo. You can just change your privacy settings to make your photo private. https://www.geni.com/account_settings/profile_privacy
Also, if you don't want your name identified in a Google search, you can change that as well by unchecking "Let the public search for me (profile privacy settings apply)". https://www.geni.com/account_settings/permissions
Google will remove the page (and image) from their cache when they reindex Geni. As I can't see a photo on your profile, it will be removed from Google on it's next pass. As for the actual photo, it's possible it's just untagged and not deleted from the actual library.
