Jeff, Geni Curator Bug #0: The helpdesk software not hosted by Zendesk and Geni is limited in what they can configure / name things. They could host their own support forum software, but that would take time and resources from development of the product.
Bug #1: "01 08 1915" works fine for me, detection "January 08, 1915" when configured in the MM DD YYYY localization. https://www.geni.com/account_settings/localization
Bug #2: Auto-detection can be helpful, but you can always edit the fields manually by selecting "Edit Location Details" below the auto-field.
Bug #3: There is a link below the birth date for birth order that says "Change Birth Order" - after clicking you can drag them into the proper order.
