Hello Geni, I have been troubled with this issue for some time. A member going by
has seemed to become a admin manager of several of my family members I added in my tree a few years back. I visited his profile and there seems to be several asking him how he did this same thing to his. He replies to contact him not using the message forum everyone can see. I think there is a real problem here and someone needs to investigate this mans account please.
Dan, no investigation needed. Eldon is a Curator appointed by Geni management to build and improve the World Family Tree, merge duplicates, and assist users. You can find out more about curators on the Geni wiki: http://wiki.geni.com/index.php/Curators If you have questions about specific profiles, I'd suggest you send him a message. Sometimes curators get assigned profiles when a member closes their account or we create them on behalf of helping someone else, or as part of additional research in another line. It may be they were duplicates of profiles you managed, in which case, we merge duplicate profiles. See the mission of Geni: https://www.geni.com/worldfamilytree/learn-more It's very common on Geni for profiles to have more than one manager, but in the case of these profiles, if they're outside of Eldon's family group and inside your family group, you should be able to remove Eldon via the Action menu, Manager Options. In any case, reach out to Eldon - this is someone you want to work with, so that he can help you on the site.
