I don't see any information on linking trees on Geni

I know you want to upsell me to your heritage.com, but first you have to convince me there's any value in Geni.  My second cousin is on your  site for years, and has my grandfather and father listed.  I have no idea, nor does she, on how we link the profiles.  You claim to want to create a single tree, yet I can't even find information on how to link my family to her already listed tree.

It does not show up as something we can merge, even though my father's name is exactly the same in my tree and my cousin's tree.

I hope you will get back to me, as I would like to participate and would consider continuing as a pro member if you get back to me on how to remedy this situation.

  Perhaps the lack of dates or additional info like siblings caused it to not match.  We have an issue of false positives as well, so sometimes it takes a little more info.  Here is the match on your other tree though: http://www.geni.com/merge/compare/6000000034894253882?return=duplicates__6000000034753347967_6000000034753271963__1&to=6000000034753271963

  Your cousin didn't have the maiden name of your mother or your married name, no dates, etc.  So it was a weak one to match - more date would have pieced this together.  I'll note that on your tree the birth name field is normally just the maiden last name, not first and last.

  How do I link my Geni tree with already existing trees I own on My Heritage? It came up momentarily as a "Match" for my husband, but then it flipped to My Heritage. No way was offered or suggested, even when I accepted the hint that showed all the work on the other tree(s).

  Colleen, you can't merge your Geni tree with MyHeritage trees.  The matches for MyHeritage are for reference and helping you find more data about your ancestors.  You can only merge your Geni tree with other Geni trees, so what you're looking for is a blue tree match.  I don't yet see one in your tree, but if you keep building, hopefully we'll find one and connect you to the world tree.

  Might I also suggest not using the display name field to reformat the name as you have, as it forces everyone to view it that way.  People have different preferences when viewing names, so we have name formatting preference in settings that will present it how you like without making it a display name: https://www.geni.com/account_settings/name_preferences
