You should be able to add deaths easier in this system. It is incomprehensible how to make that change.

  If you're having trouble, it's likely that you're dealing with an existing Geni user that has passed away recently.  Here are the instructions on how to report a Geni user as deceased.  http://help.geni.com/entries/20470882-How-do-I-report-a-profile-as-Deceased-

  I am unable to find the Edit Profile feature for some of my tree members. Need to edit birth dates. In fact, I'm certain that I had their birthdays included. Please advise on the fix. Mike Liffmann

  This person is probably a Geni member him/her self, and unless he/she has opened up for that family can edit their profile only them self and curator can edit the profile.

  They can also choose to hide their birth date.

  I checked: two of your children are Geni users, - you identify this by the color around the profile image and that there is a Send Message option.
