I'm only a basic member but I should be able to ask a question. I started a family tree and added my mother. Yet, for some unknown reason, she is listed as private. I added her and I'm the manager of her profile but I cannot make it public - why not? I went into Actions but there wasn't any help on changing her profile view from private to public. Again, I'm the one who created her profile so why can't I change it to public?

Because she is living. All living profiles are private unless they are Geni members, at which point they can control their own privacy in their account settings.

This is a real bullshit! I face the same problem. I'm a manager of all persons I have added to my tree. I want to set them as "Public", so why should I obligate all of them to enter Geni and change Private setting to a Public?
