Restart does not help. Everything else in Geni works ok. It is only the tree view.

Job Waterreus It may help to know which browser you use on one which kind of device.
If you see a floating profile can you close it?
If not can you post a screen print?
-
Stein Haave Google Chrome Versjon 123.0.6312.106 on a Acer windows pc.
I only see a line, and some white squares on the screen. The screen have been like this for some days. When I start the tree it seems to come, but changes rapidly to the line and squares.
I cannot see any floating profile.

Job Waterreus Can you decrease the zoom level?
You may also look at the number of generations that is shown (try to decrease)
Does this happen for all profiles or only for a specific profile? (if specific please give a link)
-
Stein Haave I can only decrease zoom level for the screen, not the tree. Normal setting for the screen is 100%, nothing changes when this is decreased, only the picture size. Everyting for the tree seems locked.
Don't know how to decrease the number of generations. Never any problem like this before.
I cannot get anything to work when I change to tree view. All other windws are ok. If it is only for a specific profile I don't know, because I cannot see anything else than the line and squares.
-
Job Waterreus You can use the slider to decrease zoom level for the tree and use the gear icon to change to number of profiles.
You can go to profile view and change to another profile and then from the other profile go to tree view.
You may want to look at some of the help projects. You can find some links on this project: https://www.geni.com/projects/Nederlandse-handleiding-GENI-voor-Dummies/13048 (English version, bottom of the page)

Stein Haave I found out that it works ok using Microsoft edge. I usually are using Google chrome and that's where the problem is. Does it make sence? Please give an explanation if you have.
-
Job Waterreus Sorry I can't.
Settings are browser specific however, so it could be that your zoomlevel for tree view in Chrome is the problem. You could try to clear your Geni cookies (you will probably have to log on again if you do that)
-
Geni Support Team Hi Stein, can you please try clearing your Geni cookies with the link Job provided to see if that clears the issue?
If you are still stuck in "Move mode," try hitting the control key on your keyboard. That should exist you from "Move mode" on a PC.
-
Stein Haave I have tried to delete all cookies. Does not help.
When i hit ctrl key a popup with text "You are in Move mode....." When releasing the key the popup disapears. But no change.
The problem occurs when using Chrome. When using Microsoft Edge it displays the tree ok.
Please feel free to log on to muy account and try in Chtome if you have posibility for doing so. -
Geni Support Team Thanks for the update. I'm not able to reproduce your issue.
Are you familiar with opening the Chrome JavaScript console (Command+Option+J for Mac or Control+Shift+J for Windows)? Please open the console and try to load your tree. Please send a screenshot of any errors in the console.
-
Stein Haave I am not able to try until monday. Not familiar with th Javascript, but will see what I am able to when I am back home.
-
Job Waterreus Does the tree have the same problem if you switch the layout?
-
Stein Haave Almost the same, but another layout off course. Can't do anything and names are not seen in the profile boxes.
Cannot test anymore until I am at home next week. -
Job Waterreus Sounds like a problem with zoomlevel. When you are back please try to change it using the slider
-
Stein Haave It is not possible to change the zoom level. It is possible to move the lever, but it pops back to appr. the same.
-
Job Waterreus Sorry, I'll leave it to Geni Support to help you further
-
Stein Haave Thank you for all help Job.
-
Stein Haave Printscreen with Java text. Understandable?
-
Job Waterreus Could it be you use a browser add-on that is causing problems? Do you get the same result in privacy mode? (for privacy mode you probably will have to login again)
-
Geni Support Team Thanks for the screenshot. We have enabled some additional logging to your account. Can you please try loading your tree again?
We appreciate your patience and assistance with debugging this issue.
-
Stein Haave You are into something there Job. In privacy mode the tree is ok. What to do to get it like that without uing privacy?
-
Stein Haave Dear Geni Support. In privacy mode the tree is ok. I guess Job Waterreus found something from the screenshot. Don't know what causes it yet.
-
Geni Support Team Stein, also please try this:
With the console open in your browser, do a long click on the refresh icon, and select "Empty Cache and Hard Reload."
-
Geni Support Team Hi Stein, yes we think this is something specific to your browser. Do you have an add-on or extension enabled? Or perhaps an antivirus software or firewall? You can try disabling these to see if it resolves the issue.
-
Stein Haave I don't think there are any new just before this happened. Only three add-ons.No new firewall or antivirus. But I can try to disable them and see if any of them makes trouble.
I have tried to reload and empty cache and hard reload. But the window you describe do not occur. So this solution stopped.
-
Stein Haave Firewall an antivirus disconnected. Also turned off add-ons, but sadly no change.
-
Stein Haave Now I tried once more to delete all cookies and also deleted all the browsers logs. I'm not familiar with the English names for all this. But I don't care - Finally it works again (I hope;)
So easy, but hard to find. Thank you for all support.
Stein
