Can someone please help? My tree has been inadvertently merged with my brother-in laws tree which is doubly complicated because my sisters husband is also the brother of my first husband (hence some aspects were supposed to be merged but not the whole thing!)
Now when I log into my tree all I see is my Brother in laws (and ex's!) tree instead of mine!
Can we UNMerge? I haven't been able to do anything to my tree for simply ages :(

Christine, happy to help. In your case, this merge was too old to simply undo, but I can try to fix it manually.
Christine, take a look now and let me know if any additional changes need to be made. You'll want to review your data conflicts, because there were a couple of differences with some dates between you and your brother-in-law's tree. For example, you had different birth years for Paul - you had 1956 and Stephen had 1954. https://www.geni.com/list/data_conflicts
Also, there is a parent conflict on your Grandmother, Dora Whitfield, where you and Stephen came up with different ancestries. I didn't know which was correct, so I left it as a conflict so you could research it. Oh, there was also another duplicate tree by Carey Bishop. Since neither tree has yet connected to the world tree, I wasn't able to merge this in for you, but if it does get merged in, I'd be happy to help complete it so there are no duplicates of your family.

I may have inadvertently merged my tree with my brother Ronald Brockus. My emails keep coming to me with his name and my email address. This is very annoying. Ronald has absolutely nothing to do with my Geni family tree outside outside of being listed as a brother. Your cooperation on this matter would be appreciated very much. Thank you, Richard Brockus
Richard, I don't see that your profile has been merged with your brother. Everything looks correct on the tree. I'm not sure why it would appear to email Ronald.
There is a duplicate tree that should be merged though, from your half-sister Karen. I can help with that if you'd like.
Please help us merge our tree. When I invited Richard to join, my whole idea was not to re-invent the wheel, but that we would work on the same tree and common ancestors and we both could work on it. I was frustrated with even trying to add info for Richard on my own tree because when I would add it, then it disappeared all except his name. I tried repeated times. I think the problem was that I didn't submit his DNA tests and that is why it wouldn't let me add a picture and other info. He was the only person I had problems with in my family tree. Richard, I think I know what is going on. Your current email account is Yahoo.com, but the one assigned to your brother is the same, except Hotmail.com. If the Hotmail address is also yours, then I can remove it from the profile.

Richard and Karen, I've finished the merging of the trees. You'll want to review the data conflicts in your merge center. I noticed some date differences on a few profiles.
This very same thing happened to me, and I'd like it resolved. Someone merged my ex brother in law's info with mine. His files are completely inaccurate, yet he is now the manager of some of my relatives. Now every time I log in I see nothing but his family who I do not know, nor do I care to know, seeing as how that jerk abandoned my sister with two small children. His name is pretty much a cuss word in my family and to have him tie to me in any way simply makes me queasy. I try to go onto Geni to work on my tree but just logging in makes me so upset I log right back out. Please, can someone there fix this? It was done recently, in the past few months, and the person who did the merging (who had nothing to do with either family) did not give me much help in fixing it.
