Geographic disparities in Smart Matches

A recent purported Smart Match had several matching data points between the two individuals (years of birth and death (but not months and days) plus several equivalent elements of their names), but their countries of birth are on different continents. There may also be other disparities that I can't see because I don't have paid Geni or My Heritage accounts.

Either the current Smart Match software completely ignores geographical information or else it allows such a disparity only if a sufficient quantity of other data points matches. If the latter is true, then Geni/My Heritage should use some other term than "Smart Match" to describe such situations — since country of birth is substantially less likely to vary than the other data points.
