Job Waterreus It may help if you give example links.

Mary J. King▼▼ It doesn't matter the profile, they can't be changed from public to private or vice versa. What good is sending a link to the profile going to do when they're all like that? If I thought it would help, I'd send it. I have other problems since the update, also, but, I figured one at a time...

Geni Support Team Hi, I am not able to reproduce this issue. A specific example is always helpful even if you believe it is happening everywhere. Can you please send the link to a profile where this is occurring? Also what browser/version are you using?
Note if the profile is living, you will not be able to make it public unless it is a Master Profile.

Torbjørn Igelkjøn I think that for deceased profiles outside of family group, but inside the extended family group, it has not been possible to change these from private to public for a long time. But there should not be any problem to make deceased profiles inside the family group public or vice versa.

Geni Support Team Torbjørn, can you send the link to a specific example?

Torbjørn Igelkjøn Changing deceased profiles inside my family group from private to public still works for me.
-
Torbjørn Igelkjøn Random example:
https://www.geni.com/people/Alf-Ingemann-Solberg/6000000025633417364This profile is outside my family group, but the manager is inside my family group. The toggle option between public and private is greyed out. But this has been so for a long time.
If the profile were inside my family group, the toggle option would be available.

Mary J. King▼▼ Ok here's one:

I have been getting a time-out error when using the search box for profiles.
I am on Google Chrome Version 126.0.6478.127 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Mary J. King▼▼ I gave up and changed her profile from the edit profile instead of the pull down list on the top right.
-
Torbjørn Igelkjøn You should have said this at first. You are correct. The option in the pulldown list on the top right does not work. I tried to make my father "private" this way, and nothing happens.
I usually do this by editing the profile, where it still works.

Mary J. King▼▼ Well, edit profile worked on Cheryl Turner, but now, it doesn't work on https://www.geni.com/people/Emily-Kellogg/6000000077316899229
Also, I can't change her from being alive to being deceased.

Geni Support Team Hi all,
The issue trying to make a profile public/private from the 'Actions' menu should be fixed now. If you experience the issue again, please let us know.
