I was comparing this to ancestry.com and found my 5xGreat Grandfather here didn't have any info. I created an account and suddenly the searches that worked fine as a non-member are overlaid with the request for a year membership #$119.
I logged out of the "free" account, did the search on a non-account and it works fine.
If this is how you think you win people over to join a membership, you're wrong.
Hi Vince, full access to our search engine is a Pro feature. However, you can view any public profile for free. If you still have the urls for those profiles you found, you can view it in full while logged into your free account.
kind of stupid to allow non-users full access to search, people that join no access unless they go pro. Why join at all. I'll just go back to ancestry.com they don't bait/switch.
Sorry to hear that. Just to clarify, logged out visitors do not have full access to search.
For our users who are not yet ready to upgrade, they can do a Google search for a name + geni.com and access profiles for free through those results.
