Hi, I’m managing my family tree and I’m trying to mark a family member as deceased, but his profile was claimed years ago and is now inactive. I can’t edit it or update the status.
I’m not able to contact support because I have a free account.
Could a curator or moderator please help me regain access to the profile?

Mathew Englander If the profile has been claimed, i.e. it's a profile for a Geni user, and the user then dies, you need to "report" the profile as deceased. Under the "Actions" drop-down menu (upper right corner of the profile) select "Report" and then under "Reason" select "Deceased". Then in the comment you can explain how you know the individual is dead (I usually include a link to a notice on the funeral home website or a newspaper obituary).
