Geni {ro vs or with (?) MyHeritage

I am completely new to this and previously never seriously thought of looking into the past; but i am curious.

I received a notice that some of the info i typed in matched some info on "MyHeritage" so i went over there. The info appeared interesting and as it seemed i couldn't incorporate it into Geni without subscribing i looked at the subscription, saw a figure around $10.00 and chose to subscribe, then when i saw they wanted a figure closer to $120 my thought was "JERKS - Deceptive advertising".

At Geni at least they are clear that the figure is around $115, but would that mean that if only MyHeritage has the info i was looking at on their site i would have to have the pleasure of paying $115 for Geni Pro plus $120 for MyHeritage, $235, or do they reciprocate?

I very much appreciate your guidance! Simply being curious, i am not interested in making a substantial investment, and when business has been slow$235 IS a substantial investment just to discover a curious fact that won't do anything to improve my life.

  Hi Bruce, we understand upgrading can be a substantial investment, especially with so many different services that offer access to so many different collections.

  If you are not ready to upgrade to Geni Pro, you can continue to enjoy a free basic membership. Many of Geni’s features are free. We offer matches to MyHeritage’s collection of historical records and family trees so that Geni users can confirm those historical records to their relatives’ profiles on Geni. Some users do choose to maintain a free Geni basic account and subscribe to a MyHeritage data subscription instead, so that they can access those historical records while continuing to build their family tree on Geni.

  Also, if you have a local library that provides public access to their computers, they can sign up for Geni Public Access, which grants free access to Geni’s Pro features to those who login from the library’s computers. You can simply ask your local library to fill out a Geni Public Access form here: https://www.geni.com/corp/geni-public-access-program/geni-public-access-application/

  If you’re not in a hurry, you may also want to keep an eye out for promotions on Geni Pro. We typically do this a couple of times per year.
