I need help please.
I haven't accessed my account for quite a while and got a shock today. Someone has added themselves as manager and has made a considerable amount of changes to known information. For example my brother's surname was changed. My mother suddenly had another husband etc. etc.
How does this happen? Should I not be allowed to decided who I want to have managing my profiles?

You are the only managr on your own profile, but it looks like some of the profiles in your tree got merged.
If any profiles have been merged wrongly, you can ask curators for help. in the Discussion forum, thre are some pinned threads near the top. You can ask for curator assistance; please post links to thenprofiles that should not have been merged.
Since this is a collaborative site, we sont usually unmerge good merges. but certainly any wrong ones we will undo!
I have the same problem. someone got into my family tree and added false information and made them self manager of several people.. How do I undo it and he used the name Moshe Kaplan. I clicked on his name and asked if we were related. He wrote back and said: Nope, not related. Just needed to relax from a crazy morning and so looked for some easy additions to Geni"
How can I protect my account so he or someone else can not do this. Should I block him? How do I clean this up?
Same here, I do understand that Geni is a collaborative facebook-style website. However, I would like the correctness of the stored information not to be exposed. How can one person make such a crucial decisions as adding one profile as a parent for the other based only on the first name! I am fine with the shared tree builder, but don't we need to somehow control the information we provide?
I have the same problem in 2022 someone else made me an ex wife of my current husband and changed a lot of other information too.
i can not seem to change it back myself anymore. The system doesn’t let me in my own family tree to change my own profile!
Someone get my dead mother profile and it's managing the account! I want to delete my mother of the interner and now, I can't do it anymore!! Someone help me!
