PRIVACY VIOLATION - I logged into Geni and looked at my entry. I did not give Geni permission to either load my DNA results or make them PUBLIC. After much effort I think I deleted the results. Privacy should default to private and being able to reset it should be very simple. How do ensure this does not happen again in the future? Note I am also considering notifying government authorities (US/EU) on this violation so I am looking forward to your response. I worked in a Fortune 100 Company in IT and understand privacy regulations.

Geni Support Team Official comment Hi Harold, please note all living profiles are private on Geni. You linked your Family Tree DNA account to Geni, which imports your results. Privacy is strictly enforced. DNA results are displayed on profiles only as haplogroups and matches. As it states clearly in your DNA tab, you control what information you would like to share publicly in your profile privacy settings: https://www.geni.com/account_settings/profile_privacy
If you want to remove your Family Tree DNA results and unlink your account, please follow the steps in our FAQ: https://help.geni.com/hc/en-us/articles/229707727-How-do-I-delete-the-DNA-test-results-linked-from-Family-Tree-DNA-
Note you can also remove the connection by logging into your Family Tree DNA account.
