My father allowed me to merge, I have the email, there is no indication as to how to merge on the page. The email lacks any link that would accomplish the merge.
This interface is awful, makes things difficult, I was considering a pro account but don't think it is useful so I will cancel.
I'm sorry for the interface I can't change it. And at the moment you get a pro account this interface will not improve. But you get the right to complain and make suggestions about interface.
With the merging problem very like a curator like me can help you.

The merging of profiles based on living persons is something you need the help of curator. This because the profiles based on living persons are very well protected against merging and viewing the details.
