date handling error in dd.mm.yyyy format

 when editing profile date shows wrong.

e.g. 12.11.1817 -> .11.18

  Please change your local date settings to dd.mm.yy format. Very likely the problems will go away. It is a work around, but I had my format in the linux way. yy.mm.dd and that did gave a lot of problems, so I changed it back to the normal european way of dd-mm-yy and automagically my problems with the days (dd), months (mm) and years (yy) were solved. If you can not change the software, then is time so change the peopleware. (Peopleware is the way humans interact with software and hardware). 

  The problem is that we normal users can not change the keyboard (hardware) or the Geni software.

  Jeroen, - there was an error in Geni yesterday morning cutting off parts of the all dates when saving a profile, independent if you had made changes or not.
  
  A workaround was to select US English as language and they fixed the error some time after they started the word day in LA
