We're sorry to hear about your family's loss. We see that your brother had claimed his account with his email address, which is why you were unable to edit it. We have now unclaimed his account so that you may update it to reflect his passing.
Note if a relative claims their account and passes away, their profile may be reported as Deceased via the Actions button on the profile page. Our customer service team will then be able to assist with unclaiming the account. Here is our FAQ for more details: How do I report a profile as Deceased?
