I would like to know if there is some sort of sync between FTM and Geni? I am looking to upgrade to Geni Pro, but since I do most of my work in FTM, I need to know if there is some connectivity between the two other than Uploading from FTM.

Geni Support Team No, you will not be able to sync your trees between Geni and Family Tree Maker.
You can export your GEDCOM file from Geni and import it to Family Tree Maker.

Jim Henderson In FTM, you could do File->Export and export your data as a GEDCOM file.
You could then log in at Geni, open the Actions menu and select Import GEDCOM. A help file will open. Work through those instructions and select the GEDCOM file.
Decades ago importing GEDCOM files produced lots of duplication and messes that Curators had to clean up, so the facility was removed. Some years ago a much-improved import procedure was developed, so the option is now available again.
The import will work for a couple of generations and then ask you to check everything. If the process detects any apparent matches with people who are already in the tree at Geni, the process will stop and ask you to merge profiles or resolve issues.
If you have already copied some of your FTM data manually into Geni, you might like to restrict the GEDCOM file that you export from FTM, and only export people you have not copied manually already. I don't use the program myself, so I'll leave you to work out the details of how to do that.
Remember that Geni is a cooperative site, where we don't talk about "my tree" or "your tree", but "our tree". That way we help each other to get the facts right. You can merge "your branch" into "our tree", the way I merged "my branch" into the existing tree when I got back to my great grandmother. Then I discovered all her relatives, who had been added by others.

Job Waterreus As explained above a GEDCOM import in Geni will pause when it detects a possible duplicate, but others can merge such a duplicate without you having time to look at it and that merging will trigger a resume of the import of that branch. Geni will suggest a possible duplicate when the profile span of life overlap and last name and at least one of the given names match. So there could be many false matches. So there is a big change of bad merges. If you want to do an Import take into account it can take weeks to years to completely import the GEDCOM due to the pauses when it detect possible duplicates. Keep in mind that unless you are a Geni Pro user you cannot use Geni search to find the possible duplicates after the first match.
Also if you want to import a GEDCOM in Geni please add a least one (estimated) birth date to each profile in your GEDCOM so Geni can detect if the profile should be public or private.

With SmartCopy you can copy missing information from FTM to Geni without creating any duplicates.
